"Oh." Celina said, looking towards a tree. "That must be horrible." Celina sat next to Corliss. "I promise you won't leave this school. I promise." Then she smiled.

Corliss smiled back. "Thanks. I know Socrates is a jerk, but he's still my best friend." She thinks for a moment. "He was born right when He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was coming into power, so he never really knew what it was like before hand. And he had to go into hiding the split second the government came after his kind. He's sorta been alone forever." she frowns. "But that doesn't mean he should make other people end up the same way."

"Well, I kinda-sorta know how he feels." Celina said, bracing herself. "I've always been alone, no one else was around. I wanted to be like people, so I tried to make them feel alone. Which was REALLY bad..." Celina said, feeling horrible now. "But I stopped, because I noticed it hurt other people."

"Apparently, that dumb cat doesn't notice. He can be so dence."
"WHO'RE YOU CALLING DENCE?!?!" yelled a voice from the top of the tree. Corliss looks up. Sitting there on the branch with a scowl on his face is Socrates.
"You," she responds cooly.
Socrates glances at Celina. "Did you tell her?"
"So what if I did?"

Celina didn't dare look at Socrates. Instead she started throwing water balls at trees.

"What'd'ya MEAN, so what? I told you that I didn't want anyone to know about me!"
"Oh well, can't change the past," Corliss says with an air of nonchalance that always pisses Socrates off. she notices that Celina isn't looking at him. "Don't worry," she says with a smile. "He'll behave himself as long as I'm around. He looks all ferocious and stuff, but he's really just a little kitty."
"I'm a WHAT NOW?!?!" he yells. Corliss cracks up. "You see? He's just a bad-tempered fur-ball. You can look at him. She glances up a Socrates again. "Right, Socrates."
"Yeah, sure, fine, whatever," he mumbles, not meeting Corliss's eyes for some reason. But then, he is a cat,and cats have their own way of thinking.

"No, you're not." Corliss says firmly. You've got that same weird look on your face my sister Daphne has when she-" she stops, only just noticing the water balls (she kinda slow on uptake). "Whoa. How'd you do that?"

Corliss opens her mouth again, but Socrates interupts "she says she's fine. Lay off, for once in your pathetic life."
Corliss glares at him. "At least I'm not a housepet." she says sourly.
"Don't start that again. And by the way, I want you to apologize for saying you hated me."
"I said I hated you?" Corliss asks, seeming genuinely supprised.
"When I woke you up and you slaped me. You said you hated me. Take it back." Corliss is quiet for a moment, and Socrates yells "Did you seriously forget? Do you realize how much that HURT?!?!?!"

Celina looked at Socrates for once and glared at him. She didn't know why, but she did. After 3 minutes she looked away and started throwing water balls at things again.

Socrates watches the girl -he's pretty sure her name's Celina. "You really hate me, don't you, Celina? Is it cause I hurt the kitten, or because I didn't want to see you so soon after loosing control?"
"Kitten? Are you refering to me?" Corliss asks.
"You're not an adult yet. Therefore you're a kitten."
"Humans use the term child, you know." Corliss says, obviously not flattered by the referance.
"But I'm not human, am I?" Socrates reminds her.

"Socrates, I don't hate you. It's hard for me to hate people. But people hate me. It just looks like your one of them." Celina said simply, a bit hurt, but simply. "But....it's ok. I'll live." she said as she made an airball and jumped on it.

"No it is not okay," Socrates says, sounding offended. "I don't hate you. I don't hate anyone. That's the worst thing about you humans. You toss hate around like it's just any other emotion. You do the same thing with love. It's apalling! Do you realize how powerful the feeling of hate truely is? To with every fiber of your being want to see them suffer and die, to truely have someone you wish the worst will happen to? It's a hell lot more powerful than you seem to think."
Corliss looks at him again. "Nice speach."
"Shut up."

"Look here, 'kitty'. I don't need a lecture. I've been through so much, you wouldn't believe it. Now I don't need you telling me how powerful hate is. I know how powerful it is. I don't know about love, but I know about hate. Try having no friggin' emotion since you were 5 and then having someone throw back at you. It hurts! I thought I was gonna die! As a matter of fact, I was sure I was. Until I actually made a friend. Now all I ask of you is one thing: Please do not talk about death anymore in front of me. Please." Celina said, breaking down now. "Please." she whispered then started waking away.
